What does "1C" mean?

Often the name of a church isn't personal. 1C can mean: 1Creator, 1Christ, 1Counselor, 1Creed, 1st Commandment, 1Church...

Determine what 1C means to you!

It always prompts a question.

You are invited to join us at 1C Lutheran Mission Church. Come as you are to a warm, welcoming environment where we worship and pray to our Lord Jesus in a truely special way. With the use of relavent biblical content and multi-media, we show how applicable the teaching of the week is and ask ourselves just how does this apply to our daily lives. Sending praise to our Lord with live music and prayers from our members, make worshiping at 1C an exciting, and moving experience.

We practice this philosophy...To everyone we meet "Show them Jesus and Give them Heaven."

Kick It In Drive & Hunger Walk

Hey family, friends, supporters!

With just under two months to go, I can't believe the end of my Mission Year is rapidly approaching.  BUT there is still work to be done, there are lives to be touched and there are lessons to be learned!  Even though our city has reached our support raising goal, I am emailing you about two special opportunities.  The first is Mission Year's Kick-It-In drive.  Please consider a special gift, however great or small, toward the Kick It In Drive to enable us to complete this year of incredible impact both on our neighborhood and ourselves!  If you donate $50 or more, you get a special-edition Mission Year t-shirt!

The second opportunity I want to write about is Chicago's 26th annual Hunger Walk.  This event benefits the Greater Chicago Food Depository, which helps supply the food we provide to homeless men and women at my service site, Breakthrough.  (Breakthrough served over 60,000 meals last year!)  If you are interested, you can help provide food for our community by supporting the Hunger Walk drive.  I will be joining Breakthrough's team at the walk on June 25th.

It's been such an incredible year for me and I cannot even begin to explain how deeply I appreciate all your support, be it financial, prayer or encouragement.  Thanks so much!

Stephen

A Message From Jerry to the 1C Family

"To the 1C Family and friends, two important announcements/answers to our prayers:

1. Elliott Lutz will be installed as the first Pastor of 1C on July 10th. The 1C Church Family has been praying for Elliott for 4 years, God is so faithful and we are so jazzed.

2. Joyce and I have decided to relocate to North Texas to be closer to Jess & Bryan, Judd & Lori and a ~Dec. 2nd new grandbaby. June 19th will be our last Sunday at 1C.

Please pray for Elliott, that God will help him finish Seminary strong, that his visit (early June) to Columbus will be great, that God would order the days and his move to his new Church Family. That God would order our move to Texas and that we'd be shown the ministry He has planned for us. Amen? Amen! Yep, yep!"
